Clinical Overview

How Homeshare supports your patients

Bromley Homeshare is a clinically informed service, delivered by CCGA Healthcare Group — a CQC-registered provider led by a qualified Physician Associate with 15 years of clinical experience. We understand how Homeshare fits within the wider health and social care landscape.

For patients who are socially isolated, recovering from illness, living with mild cognitive impairment, or simply managing the challenges of ageing independently, Homeshare provides a unique form of low-level support that statutory services often cannot deliver.

Importantly, Homeshare sits alongside — not instead of — formal care. It is not regulated by the CQC and Homesharers do not provide personal care. But the presence of a supportive, vetted companion in the home can make an enormous difference to health outcomes, hospital discharge, and quality of life.

Hospital discharge

Homeshare can support safe discharge for patients who live alone and would benefit from having someone at home during recovery.

Cognitive support

Homeshare can support safe discharge for patients who live alone and would benefit from having someone at home during recovery.

Medication adherence

While Homesharers cannot administer medication, their presence can support routine and prompt self-medication where appropriate.

Mental health & isolation

Regular companionship is one of the most effective interventions for loneliness and low-level anxiety in older adults.

Suitability

Who is Homeshare suitable for?

The following patient groups may particularly benefit from a Homeshare arrangement.

Older adults living alone

Adults aged 65+ who are socially isolated, have a spare room, and would benefit from light practical support and companionship.

Post-hospital discharge

Patients recovering from surgery, illness, or a fall who need a supported environment at home during the recovery period.

Carer support

Homeshare can provide relief for family carers by having another supportive presence in the home, reducing carer burden.

Preventing care home admission

For adults who are not yet ready for residential care but need more support than they currently receive to remain at home safely.

Not suitable if...

Homeshare is not appropriate for individuals who require continuous personal care, have complex behavioural needs that may put a Homesharer at risk, or who lack the mental capacity to consent to the arrangement without an appropriate appointee in place.
